Statistics about registered health care personnel at the end of 2016 and health care personnel who hold certificate on the recognition of professional qualification to work abroad in 2016 are released. Data source is Health Board’s national register of health care professionals.
Statistics is available in the Health Statistics and Health Research Database under the topic “Health care resources and their use” –> "Health care personnel" –> tables THT022 and THT023.

Health Behavior among Estonian Adult Population Study 2016 selected data is available in database.
The main topics studied include dietary habits, smoking and alcohol use, physical activity, traffic behavior; also health status as well as the respondents' health self-assessment, use of health services and medications. For further information please see the study report.

Data for 2016 traffic accidents with casualties by municipalities has been added to database. The data source is Police and Border Guard Board.
Blood donations and use of blood components 2016

The 2016 data for donors and use of blood components were published in Health Statistics and Health Research Database. 33,154 people donated blood for 57,789 times during the previous year. On average, every donor donated blood 1.7 times, which has been stable in the last years. The number of first time donors was 5,303, which is 16% of all blood donors.
The number of apheresis donors was 718 and it has increased by half during the last three years. Apheresis procedures formed 5,6% of all blood donations in 2016 and it has increased by two percentage points within last two years.
Last year, nearly 18,000 blood transmissions were carried out in hospitals.

Health Statistics and Health Research Database contains now Estonian Health Insurance Fund’s 2016 data about residents with health insurance and health insurance coverage by sex, age group and county.
Health insurance coverage is calculated using population data of the Population Register.
