Hospital emergency medical care departments' data, 2016

The 2016 data of emergency medical care departments (tables KE30–KE34) is published in the Health Statistics and Health Research Database. Selected emergency medical care departments’ data by Hospital Masterplan hospitals (table HH05) is also available in database.
Last year 480,183 patients turned to hospitals’ emergency medical care departments, which is 1220 patients less compared to 2015. The number of 0–14 year’s old patients has decreased by 1.6% compared to 2015. The number of adults (15 and older patients) has remain about the same.
71% of the emergency medical care patients turned him/herself to an emergency department in 2016, 20% were admitted by an ambulance, 7% were directed from another health care provider and 2% arrived in some other way, e.g. by police.
After receiving emergency care, the share of patients directed to inpatient care in same hospital was 19.6% of all emergency medical care patients.
Consumption of medicines and pharmacy statistics 2016

Health Statistics and Health Research Database covers now the statistics on consumption of medicines, prescriptions in general pharmacies (table RT01), pharmacies (table TTO50), pharmacies’ personnel (table THT030) and turnover of pharmacies (tables TK30, TK31) for 2016 compiled by the State Agency of Medicines.
