In 2019, a total of almost 1.97 million visits were made to all dental specialties in Estonia, which is almost 1% more than a year earlier, according to statistics published by the National Institute for Health Development.
Dental prophylactic and treatment visits accounted for 80% of all dental visits, and their number has remained at the same level as in 2018. Prosthetic visits accounted for almost 13% and orthodontic visits for 9% of all dental visits.
In 2019, a total of 701,923 people visited the dentist and nearly 1.02 million teeth were treated. Compared to the previous year, the number of people visiting the dentist has increased by 1.3%, while the number of treated teeth has decreased by 1.8%.
